Mesa Verde, Costa Mesa Gutter Replacement Mid-century home

1950s Mesa Verde Ranch — Full Replacement with Fascia Repair

Single-day install · 165 lf · $3,200 total · Completed March 2026

The Problem

The homeowner called about a single leaking joint that had been dripping during winter rains. On-site inspection revealed the leak was just the most visible symptom — the original 1956 galvanized gutters were rust-pitted throughout, the redwood fascia behind two sections had rotted, and the back-pitch was off by more than an inch in several places. A repair would have been wasted money on a system that had reached end of life 5+ years earlier.

The Solution

We replaced the entire 165 linear feet of gutters with custom-rolled .032" seamless aluminum in antique bronze (matching the original 1950s color palette). Before installing, we sister-in new 2x6 redwood fascia on the two rotted sections, primed and sealed. Used stainless-steel hangers on 24" centers — heavier than spec but required for proper hold on the older fascia. Added a third downspout at the rear where the original drainage was overwhelming the existing two.

The Outcome

Single-day install. Total cost: $3,200 including $400 fascia repair. Owner noted that the new gutters look identical to a friend's restored 1960s Mesa Verde home — exactly the aesthetic match they wanted. Follow-up at 6 months: no issues, drainage during March 2026 storms handled flawlessly.

"Anton walked the entire property, photographed the fascia damage, and gave me the honest pros and cons of repair vs. replacement. Other contractors just quoted me a number. The work was clean and they were done in a day."

Corona del Mar, Newport Beach Copper Gutters Half-round profile

Corona del Mar Mediterranean — Solid Copper Half-Round

2-day install · 220 lf · $11,400 · Completed January 2026

The Problem

Beautiful 1990s Mediterranean home in Corona del Mar, originally built with cheap white aluminum K-style that looked dated and corroded badly from salt air. The owner had been planning a full exterior refresh and wanted the new gutters to match the home's architectural style. They considered painted aluminum but were concerned about the corrosion timeline — their previous gutters lasted only 11 years before showing visible failure.

The Solution

Recommended 16 oz solid copper in half-round profile to match Mediterranean architecture and provide 80+ year service life in salt-air exposure. Installed 220 linear feet with hand-soldered seams, copper hangers, and stainless steel fasteners (galvanized fails too fast on the coast). Added two custom copper rain chains in lieu of standard downspouts at the front courtyard — both decorative and functional.

The Outcome

Two-day install. Total cost: $11,400 including $800 for the rain chains. The copper went on bright, started turning brown at 4 months. Owner submitted photos to Newport Coast ARC for their files — approved without modification. Real estate agent neighbor estimated the install added $20,000+ to perceived home value.

"It looks like the house was built for these gutters, not the other way around. Wish I'd done copper the first time."

Belmont Shore, Long Beach Gutter Repair Storm damage

Belmont Shore Storm Damage — Repair Not Replace

Same-day service · 12 lf section + 1 downspout · $480 · Completed February 2026

The Problem

1940s Belmont Shore beach cottage, hit during the February 2026 storms. A large overhanging branch fell during 50 mph winds and crushed a 12-foot section of the front gutter and ripped the downspout off the house. The owner had been quoted $3,800 by another contractor for "full replacement since the gutters are old anyway." The actual gutters were 8 years old and otherwise sound — they'd been installed by us in 2018.

The Solution

Recognized our own work from the photos. Confirmed the rest of the system was in great shape — no rust, hangers tight, sealant still intact. Spliced in a new 12-foot section of matching .032" aluminum (same color, same profile), re-attached the downspout with new fasteners and a slightly larger 3"x4" diverter to handle the increased flow from a now-thicker tree canopy.

The Outcome

Same-day service. Total cost: $480 (not $3,800). Insurance covered $300 of the $480 after a one-page documentation report we provided. Customer relationship: doubled down — they referred 3 neighbors that same month, two of whom became customers.

"They knew their own work and refused to oversell me. I'd called three other gutter places and they all wanted to replace everything. Anton came out and fixed it in two hours."

Turtle Rock, Irvine Gutter Guards HOA-compliant

Turtle Rock — Stainless Micro-Mesh on a Mature Property

Single-day install · 180 lf guards · $2,400 · Completed November 2025

The Problem

Turtle Rock home with mature Italian stone pines and eucalyptus on three sides. Owner was paying $400 twice a year for gutter cleaning and still getting clogs that overflowed during storms. They'd tried plastic mesh from Home Depot — degraded in two years and made the problem worse. Wanted a permanent solution but the HOA had restrictions on visible exterior modifications.

The Solution

Installed Pro-Grade stainless steel micro-mesh guards in antique bronze finish to match existing gutters. Mounted inside the gutter (invisible from the ground) so no ARC submission required. 180 linear feet total. Cleaned and flushed the existing gutters before guard install. Provided HOA-ready installation photo set in case the architectural committee asked.

The Outcome

Single-day install. Total cost: $2,400. Customer's annual gutter cleaning costs went from $800 to $0. Six months in: zero clogs, zero overflow during the December and February rain events. They sent us photos of the guards holding back a complete carpet of pine debris while water flowed freely below — perfect proof of concept.

"My biggest fear was paying for guards that don't actually work. We had a brutal pine-needle dump in January and the system handled it perfectly. The HOA never even noticed."
